Students typically advance faster in the context of a one hour group class with their peers as opposed to a half hour single lesson in a one-on-one instruction. When a student gets to see how other students are performing in the group, it gives him or her a better perspective on how things need to be done. Plus, the teaching given to a single student is actually received by all members of the group.
On a case-by-case basis, Tao Arts will accommodate individual music lessons. Please email Kevin Huang if you wish to enroll privately.
Group violin classes are offered in Western classical violin methodology. The emphasis of the class is on memorized music and note reading. Suzuki Book 1, etude methods like Kreutzer, jazz improvisation, and standard concert repertoire are covered.
The goal of group violin classes is to prepare students for every performing situation they might encounter in the course of their musical careers. Special emphasis is given to the mastery of the fundamentals, as weaknesses in fundamentals manifest themselves with greater intensity as the difficulty level of the repertoire goes up.

Please note when the actual days of the events will be, as they change based on the shifting calendar.
